This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, and how you can manage them. It applies only to the vBrief platform. (the "Solution").

For cookies used on our marketing website (vbrief.ai), please see our Website Cookie Policy. Or click these links for the Web App Privacy Policy, or Web App Acceptable Use Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on a user's device when they visit a website. They allow the website to recognise that device. Related technologies include HTML5 local storage, device fingerprinting and tracking pixels. UK law (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, "PECR") requires consent before setting or accessing non‑essential cookies.

2. Why we use cookies

We use cookies solely to keep you securely signed in while you use the Solution. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking or analytics.

3. Cookies in use

vbrief.sid

Provider: vBrief (app.vbrief.ai)

Purpose: Maintains your authenticated session after you sign in via your organisation's SSO provider. Without this cookie the Solution cannot identify you between page loads.

Type: Strictly necessary

Expiry: 7 days (refreshed on sign‑in)

4. Third‑party cookies and cookie‑less technologies

The Solution does not set or allow any third‑party cookies. When you sign in, you are briefly redirected to your organisation's identity provider (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID). Any cookies set during that redirect are on the identity provider's domain, governed by their own privacy policy, and are not accessible to vBrief.

Application performance monitoring is handled server‑side and does not place cookies or similar technologies in your browser. The Solution does not use cookie‑based analytics, device fingerprinting or tracking pixels.

5. Managing cookies

Because we only set strictly‑necessary cookies, the Solution will not ask for your consent on arrival. You may still delete or block cookies via your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from remaining signed in to the Solution.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features or technologies, or if legal requirements change. The "Last Updated" date will be revised accordingly. If we introduce any non‑essential cookies in future, we will obtain your consent before setting them in accordance with PECR. Significant changes will be flagged within the Solution.
