Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, and how you can manage them. It applies only to vbrief.ai (the “Site”).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on a user’s device when they visit a website. They allow the website to recognise that device. Related technologies include HTML5 local storage, device fingerprinting and tracking pixels. UK law (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, “PECR”) requires consent before setting or accessing non‑essential cookies.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies solely to ensure the Site functions securely and reliably. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking or analytics.
3. Cookies in use
Cookie Provider Purpose Type Expiry crumb Squarespace Prevents cross‑site request forgery (CSRF) in form submissions. Strictly necessary End of session _dd_s Squarespace Short‑lived performance sample used by Datadog to monitor site stability. Strictly necessary Up to 4 hours
4. Cookie‑less analytics
We measure aggregated visit statistics with Plausible Analytics. Plausible does not place any cookies, nor does it use device fingerprinting. Your IP address is truncated and irreversibly hashed within 24 hours. The data cannot be used to identify you as an individual and is processed under our legitimate interest in understanding overall site usage (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Bot-prevention (ALTCHA) We use a self-hosted ALTCHA proof-of-work challenge to block automated spam on our forms. ALTCHA does not set or read any cookies or other persistent identifiers.
5. Managing cookies
Because we only set strictly‑necessary cookies, the Site will not ask for your consent on arrival. You may still delete or block cookies via your browser settings, but the enquiry form may not work without the crumb cookie. ALTCHA also relies on JavaScript; if you disable JavaScript you may email us directly at info@vbrief.ai to request a subscription.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features or if legal requirements change. The “Effective date” will be revised accordingly. Significant changes will be flagged on the Site.
